Every spring, students grades 3-5 take part in an assessment to help us learn more about student and school progress. This assessment is called the DC CAPE, DC Comprehensive Assessment of Progress in Education.
The DC CAPE test is important, but it is only one measure of achievement. We cannot rely solely on one test to get a complete picture of a student. Thus, we look at grades, teacher reports, attendance, how students feel about school, and many other factors to inform decisions about how to work with families and help students thrive.
